The reproduction of a Muromachi-era style is located in the mountains near Kusanokashiragama kiln. The area has remains of even older kilns all the way back to the Heian era, a thousand years ago.
This is a firing program using a reproduction of a 500-year-old anagama wood-fired kiln. The 4-week and 6-week courses are held from April to May and November to December.
For the VIP course, firing is scheduled according to your convenience, as long as weather and firewood preparation allow.
We fire your pieces alongside our own in the large anagama kiln, tending the fire day and night in shifts.
In the special anagama program, you can create Ko-sometsuke, ash glaze, hikidashi-guro, and natural glaze pieces, with the possibility of making multiple types.

Loading the kiln takes three days; firing takes four days; and cooling takes seven days. We recommend that you spend your free time in Japan by going sightseeing or doing other things you enjoy until the temperature drops to the point where you can take your pieces out of the kiln.

advanced and intermediate users who are physically fit and can stay up late.

Firing
The kiln is located in the mountains, where workers labour all night. Firing will take place in shifts, and students will always be assisted while working at the kiln.
There is a limit to the size and number of pieces that can be fired. We will determine the timing of the firing. The course is scheduled for firing during your visit; however, in the event that you are unable to attend, the kiln will be shipped to you following the firing.

We normally fire at the above times. Dates may vary slightly.
