This is an Ash Glaze course for those with skills equivalent to a completed 30-day trial course or higher. Participants use glazes produced by Master Soukei Aoyama to create ash-glazed ceramics. You will start by shaping the piece on the wheel. Next, you will fire it twice—once without glaze and once with glaze.

Firing
We will use a 70 x 40 x 60 cm gas kiln or a 35 x 40 cm x 60 cm gas-assisted wood-fired kiln. The size and quantity of items that can be fired are limited.
The course is scheduled for firing during your visit; however, in the event that you are unable to attend, the kiln will be shipped to you following the firing.
